

Jim was born July 18th, 1946 in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Orlo Ted Thompson and Doris Alberta Thompson, of Ashland Kentucky.
After graduating Paul G. Blazer High School, Ashland, Kentucky. He attended Eastern Kentucky University where he majored in music. He then decided to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force for 20 plus years of service.
After his retirement from the Air Force he continued to work for many years at Versatile Fashions, A security guard at the Hyatt and as a free lance photographer.
He is survived by his wife, Som Thompson,
his son, Dwight David Thompson of Denver Colorado, his daughter Cynthia Jayne Silvas of Jurupa Valley, California, Along with his Brother, Guy Marshall Thompson Of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Jim also has five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren along with his Two Nephews & A Niece.
Also survived by will be his long time companion Joelda Tomlinson, his best friend dog Bruce and all his Animal friends.
Jim was a very free spirited, loving man. His family, friends and all his animals will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be determined for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any Guinea Pig or Animal rescue foundation.
