James Arley Trent was born in Pirmasens Germany on January 21, 1964 and died in his beloved city of Huntington Beach on December 14, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cecilia and his and her children, Chrystal, her husband Zachary Hunter and their children, Jackson, Owen, Everly, and Jolene, son Ian and his wife Toi and their children Harper and Blue, son Darren and his wife Samantha and their son Dean, daughter Chelsea and her husband Sean McNeely. James is also survived by his brother Tom Trent and his wife Kathy and their daughters Kimber and Katie, and his beloved cousin Barbara Bastian and her children Manuel, Michaela, and Sara.
James’ father was stationed in Pirmasens, Germany and the family settled in Fresno, California after he left the Army. James was a successful business owner, but his passion was in ministry. He was a born-again believer who had a deep love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, and had a calling on his life to mentor and disciple men through the study of God’s Word. He impacted many lives, was kind, funny, generous, bigger than life and genuinely loved people and cared about their wellbeing. He adored his wife, children, and grandbabies. Family was everything to him. They will miss him forever but find comfort knowing they will one day be reunited with him because of their faith and hope in Jesus Christ.
He leaves a huge void in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the hearts and lives he touched. The world is a little dimmer now that he’s gone. Rest in the loving arms of Jesus.
