Born on February 4, 1938, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Jerry grew up with a deep appreciation for family, nature, and humor. He attended Lindbergh Junior High and Jordan High School, where he began forming the strong values and gentle spirit that would define his life.
On May 5, 1967, Jerry married the love of his life, Luna “Lou” D. Ellis. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. He was a devoted father to twin sons, Mike and John, and a proud grandfather to Chloe and Remy.
Jerry worked as a hairdresser for 30 years, owning and operating Fashion Trends, a well-known salon in Anaheim. His clients quickly became friends, drawn to his warm personality and easy conversation. After selling the salon, Jerry enjoyed a few years working in real estate before retiring.
He had a deep love for animals and shared his life with many cherished pets over the years, including Sheba (Boxer), Ruby (Boxer), Ginger (Golden Retriever), Maggie (Brittany Spaniel), three affectionate cats, and five turtles.
Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life — fishing, boating, camping, target shooting, and working out. He will be remembered most for his sense of humor, calm presence, and his deeply caring nature.
He was preceded in death by his father Hubert Ellis, mother Lillian Ellis, brother James Ellis, and sister Dixie Toby.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Luna; sons John and Michael; daughter-in-law Irma; and granddaughters Chloe and Remy. His spirit lives on in their hearts and in the many lives he touched with kindness.
A memorial service will be held on October 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Carolina Chapel at Westminster Memorial Park. Jerry will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery.
Jerry Earl Ellis will be fondly remembered as a man who brought warmth, laughter, and love into the world — and who made it a better place simply by being himself.
