July 20, 1939 – October 6, 2026
Jerry Don Lacy was born on July 20, 1939, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and passed away on October 6, 2026, in Placentia, California, at the age of 87.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Private E-1. During his military service, he received specialized training in photography, radio electronics, and microwave communications and earned recognition as a sharpshooter.
While stationed in Turkey during the 1960s, Jerry met his first wife, Elif, with whom he began a family. Years later, he met Carole Arant through their shared involvement in the church choir. Their friendship blossomed into love, and they were married on October 29, 1978, beginning a beautiful chapter of their lives together.
A devoted man of God, Jerry lived his life with faith as his foundation.
He was a kindhearted, easy going man who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. His friendly personality and welcoming nature made others feel comfortable in his presence.
Jerry enjoyed life's simple pleasures, especially going for drives, spending time fishing, and enjoying a well-deserved nap.
During the 1980s and 1990s, family and friends often joked that Jerry lived by two important guides: the Bible and his trusty Thomas Guide. Whether seeking direction in life or finding his way on the road, Jerry always knew the value of having a good guide by his side.
Family was an important part of Jerry's life, and he treasured the time spent with those he loved. His faith, gentle spirit, and ability to find happiness in everyday moments were qualities that made him special to so many. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love, faith, and kindness.
Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Elif, in 2008; his second wife, Carole, in February 2009; his son, Keath, in July 2025; and his stepdaughter, Cathy, in August 2026.
He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Nancy; his son, Bryan; his grandchildren, Aaron, Andrea, Courtney, Megan, and Noah; his great-grandchild, Levi; his nephew, Arthur; and his nieces, Pam and Cindy, along with extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jerry's memory to Magnolia Baptist Church in Anaheim, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Orange, or the Melander family.
Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his warm and friendly nature, his love for his family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness throughout his life.
Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His family takes comfort in knowing that his earthly journey has ended and that he now rests in the eternal peace and loving embrace of the Lord.
Services entrusted to Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary.
