Magdalena Pruneda

Magdalena Hinojosa Pruneda (Magita) went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2020. Magita was born to Maria Elia Hinojosa Hinojosa and Raymundo Hinojosa Salazar in San Javier (Rio Bravo), Tamaulipas, Mexico on January 31, 1937. Her father died when she was three years old and she was raised by her mother and grandparents.

She graduated high school in 1953 and worked as a secretary for the Ford dealership in Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Shortly after, she joined her mother in the United States. They were migrant workers and traveled from state to state following the seasonal crops. While in Idaho, she met her husband of 38 years, Elisendo Ramos Pruneda. They were married February 1959, in Mexico and then moved back to Idaho. The family eventually settled in Corona, CA for several years and then moved to Santa Ana, CA in 1969.

She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Magita babysat most of her grandchildren out of her home in Santa Ana, CA. She is also remembered as a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who loved her homemade tortillas and sweet bread.

is survived by her children: Magda Elia Pruneda, Mayra and Rolando Grant, Elisendo Jr. and Vicky Pruneda, Neyra and Victor Espinoza, and Raymundo and Mara Pruneda.

Fourteen grandchildren: Bert, Adrian, Erik, Edward, Samantha, Bryan, Cheyenne, Andrew, Mathew, Daniel, Jocelyn, Dakota, Allen, and Liam

Fourteen great-grandchildren: Adriana, Katelyn, Danny, Sophia, Lauren, Frankie, Jacob Andrew, Jacob Elijah, Izaiah, Darien, Dallas, Elliot, Braylin, and Eveni.

A chapel service will be held for Magdalena on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 12:00 noon in the Westminster Memorial Park Outdoor Chapel with an interment service to follow. Arrangements under the direction of Westminster Memorial Park, 14801 Beach Blvd. Westminster, CA 92683. (714) 893-2421
