Melissa Kathleen Huber

Melissa Kathleen Huber, age 47, passed away on July 23, 2026, in Huntington Beach, California. She was born on July 16, 1979, in Long Beach, California, and spent her life surrounded by the people and places she loved most.

Melissa attended Hope View Elementary School, Mesa View Middle School, and graduated from Huntington Beach High School. During middle school, she met Brian Huber, and together they built a family and shared many years together before later divorcing.

Melissa worked as a waitress at Macaroni Grill before choosing to devote herself full-time to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom—a role she treasured above all else. Her greatest joy in life was being "Mom" to her beloved daughter, Annabella, and son, Ryland. She loved them to the moon and back, and they remained the center of her world.

Known for her feisty spirit and passionate heart, Melissa never hesitated to speak her mind. She was fiercely loyal to the people she loved and would do anything for her family and friends. Her outgoing personality made her a true social butterfly. She loved opening her home to entertain, bringing people together with laughter, conversation, and unforgettable memories.

Melissa enjoyed playing tennis, cheering on her favorite football teams, and spending time with those she loved. Of all the places she visited, Catalina Island was her happy place—a destination where she found peace, joy, and some of her favorite memories.

Melissa also had a special place in her heart for animals. Her cherished pets, Miller, Parker, Lucky, and Bosa, brought her years of companionship, and her beloved golden retriever, Andie, survives her.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Luczynski; her grandfather, Willie Nielsen; and her grandmother, Nancy Nielsen.

She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Anne Luczynski; her daughter, Annabella Huber; her son, Ryland Huber; her sister, Lorie Dockery; her brother-in-law, Danny Dockery; her niece, Taylor Kooken; her nephew, Dylan Kooken; her beloved golden retriever, Andie; her uncle, Jimmy Johnson; her aunt, Candy Johnson; her cousin, Allison Johnson; her second cousins, Jude Moser and Faye Moser; and many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her vibrant spirit.

Melissa's laughter, honesty, strength, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. Though her time here was far too short, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
