Pauline “Nana” Garber, lovingly known as “Polly” in her youth, passed away on March 23, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born Pauline Beeson on December 22, 1933, in Ottawa, Kansas, and spent her early years in Ottawa and Paola, Kansas.
Pauline attended Ursuline Academy for Girls, where during her senior year she met the love of her life, Glen Garber, at a skating rink. Their meeting revealed a charming twist of fate—they had grown up on the same street and played together as children without realizing it at the time. Their connection quickly blossomed, and the couple was married on June 2, 1951, in Oklahoma.
As a devoted Navy wife, Pauline embraced the adventure of military life while raising her three children. Throughout her life, she held a variety of positions, working in Kansas, Washington State, and California, including roles at H.D. Lee, Barton’s Marina, Dictaphone Corporation, and J.C. Carter. She was known for her strong work ethic and ability to excel in every role she took on.
Pauline and Glen shared three children: their surviving son, Timothy, and two children who preceded them in death, their son Kim and daughter Robin.
Family was the center of Pauline’s world. She affectionately referred to her loved ones as her “tribe,” a reflection of the deep bond she nurtured with them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose love and presence will be profoundly missed.
Pauline had a passion for painting—especially landscapes—as well as a lifelong love of fishing that began in her youth. She also cherished traveling and was always ready to embrace a new adventure wherever life led her.
She will be remembered as family-oriented, adventurous, witty, and resilient—a woman whose spirit and love left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Pauline’s life was one of love, strength, and joyful exploration, and her memory will be treasured by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Visitation & Service will be held at Westminster Memorial Park, Main Chapel, 14801 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA 92683, on April 11, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
