Peggy Jo Stevens

Peggy passed away peacefully at UCI Medical Center in the early evening of July 7, 2012. Peggy's devoted husband of 56 years, Jack and her loving family were at her side. Peggy was born in Torrance, CA to Clarence Merle and Bertha Marie (Christensen) Crook. She participated in GAA and Tartar Ladies at Torrance High School graduating in 1949. Peggy married Edward (Jack) Stevens in 1956 and moved to Fountain Valley in 1964 where she enjoyed raising her four children and participating in their numerous activities. Her hobbies included: bowling, bingo, cards, going to Stateline and Laughlin along with many other family gatherings. Peggy was employed by Gemco and Sav-on Drugs, retiring from the Retail Clerks Union with many years of service. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Bertha Crook; her brother, Delaine and his wife, Pat (Doan) Crook; sister, Marcella and her husband, Paul Smith. Peggy leaves behind her husband, Jack, and her children, Debbie (David) Miller of Reno, NV, Becky Stevens of Fountain Valley, CA, Craig (Laura) Stevens of Chino, CA, Tammy Stevens of Fountain Valley, CA and sister, Beverly Ladd of Fountain Valley, CA. She is also survived by 9 adoring grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and so many more family and friends that she loved. We will be celebrating Peggy's life and all the love and laughter she brought us at a Celebration of Life on August 11, 2012. We will be gathering at the home of Becky and Tammy Stevens (714) 465-2476.
