Richard Quintana Sr., of Westminster, California was born on August 27th, 1953 in Tampa, Florida, to Delia and Pedro Quintana. He passed away at age 65 on January 26th, 2019 at home in Westminster, California.
Richard was the beloved husband of Juana C. Quintana and they were married for 42 years. He is survived by his sons Richard Quintana Jr. and Eric Quintana; daughter, Monica Quintana; brothers, Peter Quintana, David Quintana, and Joe Quintana; sister, Maria Elena Olivera; and grandchildren, Hope Redd, Cory Redd, and Judah Quintana.
During his youth, he lived throughout Florida with his family of 7 until he became old enough to enlist in the US Marine Corp. He was eventually released from active duty and honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. While in service, he was relocated to Camp Pendleton in Oceanside CA. which brought him to the West Coast and resulted in him meeting his soon to be wife Juana.
Richard and Juana’s relationship flourished and led them to being married on February 5th, 1977. Afterwards, he took his new bride back with him to Florida to begin their family together in which they had 3 children (Richard Jr., Eric, and Monica).
Our father had great ambition and continuously fought for the best for his family. He decided to bring his family of 5 back to California to pursue his career as an Engineer. Even though he excelled in his profession, he still had greater desires and goals to achieve. He found that his natural gift was being a creator and inventor of innovative products.
He tirelessly worked hard at everything he was involved with. However, his biggest achievement was being a beacon of light for many others. He was an unselfish person who never closed his doors. He always wanted to help others because it was a never-ending gesture from his heart.
His spirit will continue to live in all of us. We are all truly blessed to have called him Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, or Friend. “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12
