He was born on October 11, 1918 in Hettinger, North Dakota. Married to Alta Stevens Barnes for 46 years, who passed away in 1989.
Roy lived in Anaheim, California from 1957 to 2014, and operated Chevron station in Garden Grove for 25 years.
He is survived by daughter, Julie Stinson, son-in-law Tom Stinson, grandson Timothy Stinson (wife Jaime), granddaughter Jennifer Stinson, great-grandson Wyatt Stinson (age 3) and great-granddaughter Faith Stinson (age 1).
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Westminster Memorial Park Main Chapel. Services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the Westminster Memorial Park Main Chapel with a graveside service to follow.
