I remember the day you first started showing signs of weakness. I remember hearing the sirens, the ambulance coming to get you. They put you on the stretcher as you quickly faded away into the truck. I tried not to cry, I tried hard not to cry while seeing you go. As time passed, I realized you kept on having to go back into the hospitals. From that moment, I knew you didn't have much longer. 
Every time I came to visit you, you would be so happy to see us, but the more I visited, the worse you became. It came to the point where you couldn't even move, or talk anymore. My world just fell and shattered into pieces inside every time I saw you from that point on. 
Every night, I would think to myself, “grandpa is fine, he'll get better and he'll come home”, but as time flew by, I knew that wasn't true. So I started praying every night “please help my grandpa get better”, hoping it would work. 
The days gradually went on, then I heard that you've left, grandpa. My life has never felt so different before. Knowing that you were gone just made me tear up every time I thought of you. 
The days after you've passed have never felt the same again. I still have the voice message you sent me months ago, calling my name, asking for me. I listen to it every night, thinking about you. My eyes start to water up a little every time I hear your voice. My life will never be the same again because my grandpa, is never going to be breathing on Earth, ever again.

Off to the doctor you went that day and in the hospital you had to stay. I prayed to God "please just let him be okay". Days have passed and your words got less, I told myself that you'll be fine after a couple of days of rest. 
Hearing your heartbeat my ear on your chest, moments like that I loved best. For every heartbeat was special to me 'cause it meant I still get to see my dad. One month gone by, your words stopped. I never prayed so hard asking Him "please please just help him, God" I never stopped hoping and believing.
Two months have passed, not a word from you. Imagining you waking up saying "I'm fine, let's go home now". In the ICU, lying with my ear on your chest. This time only small little breathes, my heart broken into pieces. Time to let go, I said to myself. I whispered to God “please ease his pain”.
Your words that day “I will call you”, I never knew those words would be your last. 'Cause three months after those words... Dad, you've passed 
Lying with my ear on your chest, my world came crashing down and that moment was never the same. 'Cause that moment I realized that MY father's heart will never beat again.
