

Vernon Kendall Van Deventer of Rancho Cucamonga, California passed away Thursday January 12th, 2012. He was born May 17th, 1919 in his home on Denker Avenue in Los Angeles, California to Mildred and Louie Van Deventer. He worked for Rockwell (now called Boeing) for 28 years before retiring in 1990 (1962-1990). He is preceded in death by one (1) son - Ronald Allen Van Deventer in 1986 and is survived by his three (3) daughters - Linda L. Stokke of Oro Grande, Cindy A. Bales of Riverside and Janice J. Stephenson of Fontana. He leaves behind ten (10) Grandchildren and eighteen (18) Great Grandchildren - Jeff, Sheri (3), Selina (2), Gina (3), Jamie (2), Jody (3), Jennifer, Tracy (1), Ronny (1) and Julie (3) all of which are from California. He also leaves behind a beloved Brother - Leland B. Van Deventer of Burleson, Texas and a Neice - Ruth E. Porter, also from Burleson, Texas.
Vernon K. Van Deventer was a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, and Brother. He loved spending time with his family and was always there for us all when we needed him. We are thankful and fortunate that he was part of our lives. He Passed away at home surrounded by his family and will be dearly missed.
A viewing will be held on Thursday January 19th from 9-11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Westminster Memorial Park & Mortuary - 14801 Beach Blvd., Westminster.
