I grew up in Garden Grove, the daughter of Joe and Wilma Ryan.  Our home was on 4th Street, just off the boulevard, and Warren was our milkman.  I can still see him coming in our back door, glass milk bottles clanking together in his wire carrier, calling out "Milkman!" as he entered.  He would go straight to the refrigerator and with expert skill, rearrange the milk bottles, putting the new supply in the back, check to see if we needed cottage cheese and maybe even throwing out the old carton if it seemed "old".  He never was distracted from his work...he would smile and say Hello to me or my older brother, Jim, but he was about his business of supplying us with the much-desired Cal-Va milk.  It seemed to me that he certainly must be a member of our family, as he knew us well, and we knew him well enough to speak or talk to him without any shyness at all.  On hot summer days, we would stand and wait for his big, square truck to appear.  We would wait patiently for him to deliver milk to us, and our next-door neighbor, Mae McConnell, then we would bravely ask if we could have some ice from the back of his truck.  He patiently reminded us that the ice was used to keep the milk cold, but he never ever denied us a small handful of ice.  
He was a wonderful part of my childhood, giving me memories to last a lifetime.  Thank you Warren....the Cal-Va milk bottle that my mom saved for me sits on my kitchen counter, always reminding me of your kind and faithful service to our family.  I am blessed to have known you.

How lucky we were to be able to get everyone together in the sunset years.  So enjoyed Laguna Beach, Scottsdale and Las Vegas. So many great memories growing up and as an adult. The best story was when you came to Iowa with my parents to visit us.  Meredith and Uncle Warren went golfing and he found his long lost golf club in his rental bag.  What a thrill.  Will always cherish fond memories.  Patti and Meredith

God's blessings to the Ferguson and McDonald families. Kudos to "Mac" for a long life well lived. I hope it is of comfort to know that he is at the root of one of my most treasured childhood memories. He left a wonderful imprint on the lives of all who knew him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ferguson and McDonald families during this difficult time. One more special guardian angel to watch over us. Grandpa was a wonderful person and will truly be missed. Cherish the memories and love he gave to you. He was so proud of his family and is an example for all of us.  We are so proud to have known him.
