Wesley Martin Neser, age [91], of Huntington Beach, California, passed away on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026. Just shy of his 92nd birthday. Wes lived a long, full life defined by his sense of humor, ability to command a room, and devotion to family. Those who knew him best would describe him as boisterous, obnoxious, and opinionated but also kind, nurturing, and hard working.
Born on September 12, 1934 in Ogden, Utah, he was the son of the late Roma Saville Neser and Irving Otto Neser.
Wes’s early life was spent in the west Los Angeles area where he attended Venice High School graduating in 1952.
It was in high school that his love of sports began; primarily baseball and basketball. He often spoke fondly of the time he spent in the Huntsville area of Utah with his mother’s family. Throughout his life, Wes’s passion for sports continued, and he developed a love for his country.
Wes was a hard working man of dedication and purpose. He built a successful career as a Carpenter owning his own construction company, Wes Mar Construction, and worked with many in the communities where he lived, before retiring in 2008.
Even in retirement, he never slowed down, spending his time on projects around the house, woodworking, and reading. At the center of Wes’s world was his family.
He was the beloved husband of Frankie Jean Bowers Neser for 44 years. Together, they navigated a combined family that brought him endless pride.
He was the undisputed cornerstone of his family—a man who loved nothing more than hosting Sunday family dinners with Frankie, keeping a watchful eye on the news, passionately coaching professional athletes from the comfort of his favorite chair, and keeping everyone in line with love and authority all while keeping Jackson, his loyal dog, by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Paul Neser, Gerald Neser, Doris Werner, his sons, Christian Neser, and Peter Neser.
His legacy lives on through his surviving family: his brother, Fred Neser (Ron); his children, Lynnette Call (Wayne) , Kimberly Dickerson (Rick), Leslie Dougherty (Mark); his step-children, Jennifer Lusk (John), Michael James McGinnis (April), Jessica Salmond (David), Marc McGinnis (Layla), and his and Frankie’s son, Wesley Neser, Junior (Jana); his grandchildren, Adam Call, Christopher Call, Tyler Call, Evan Call, Natalie Everson, Eleanor Tibbitts, Rhett Dickerson, Andrew Dougherty, John Dougherty, Steven Dougherty, Nicholas Neser, Rachel Coronel, Clay Neser, Macel Miles Mills, CJ Neser, Cooper Neser, Hannah Nixon, Natalie Lusk, Ryan Lusk, Aidan Lusk, Brady Lusk, Taylor Hart, Brittain McGinnis, Emma McGinnis, Kaleigh Salmond, Joseph Salmond, Jay Neser, Cort Neser, Wynn Neser, Reza McGinnis; and 34 great-grandchildren.
He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Wes’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 5402 Heil Avenue, Huntington Beach, California.
Arrangements are in the care of Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary.
