1918 ~ 2021
Dorothy (Liddon) Walter passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Sunset Extended Care Home, Regina, Saskatchewan at the age of 102 years.
Dorothy was born October 16, 1918 to Thomas and Florence Liddon in Cabri, Saskatchewan. In her early years Dorothy worked for National Health and Welfare as a stenographer. Music was a big part of Dorothy’s life. She was a beautiful singer and an accomplished piano player. She was a member of the Regina Operatic Society as well as a member of the Eastern Star. Dorothy was a member of the Anglican Church for over 60 years and a member of the Anglican Church Women’s group, always there to lend a helping hand. She loved to garden and read, and she loved her animals, especially her dogs. On June 12, 1954 Dorothy married Jack Walter in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, where they made their home. Dorothy and Jack had three children and as a family enjoyed travelling and camping. Dorothy moved to Regina in June of 2018 to be closer to her son. When her health started to fail she moved into Sunset Extended Care.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Jack; daughter, Elaine Hunt and son, Brian Walter. Left with fond memories of a life well lived is her son, Michael (JoAnn) Walter of Regina, Saskatchewan and grandson, Jason Hunt of Sylvan Lake, Alberta.
The Memorial Service for Dorothy was held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from All Saints Anglican Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Deacon Debbie Hubick officiating. Interment followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
Donation in memory of Dorothy may be made to All Saints Anglican Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
