Edward was predeceased by his parents, Adolph & Augusta Arndt; three sisters and two brothers.
Edward is survived by all of his nieces and nephews as well as several friends
Edward was born at Ibsen, SK on February 27, 1918. He attended High Hill School and two years later Dawn View School located south of Lang, SK and completed his education up to Grade 8. In later years, he served as a trustee on Dawn View School Board. Edward left the farm in the winter of 1942 and moved out to Toronto, ON where he worked for his brother-in-law at an auto repair shop. He stayed six months and then decided to move back and begin his career as a farmer. Edward stayed on the family farm at Lang, SK until poor eyesight caused him to rent the land out to local farmers. He then retired to Sunny View place in Pangman, SK. Along with farming, Ed enjoyed horses, dancing and playing crib. Edward was a competitive man and when he reached his 90th birthday, he achieved the goal of out-living all his siblings. When his 93th birthday came, his greatest accomplishment was that he out-lived every member of his family. He was very proud of that!
The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, March 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Lang Hall, Lang, SK with Pastor Doug Langcaster officiating. Interment followed in Lang Cemetery, Lang, Saskatchewan. Pallbearers were Ross Hockley, Greg Hockley, Ed Arndt, Bob Khan, Garnet Heinzig, Jon Arndt. People so wishing may make donations in Edward’s memory to the charity of their choice.
