Doug was predeceased by his parents, George and Jenny (Kirkness); loving wife, Tannis Marshall; three brothers, John, Bill and Jim and sisters, Viola Chizik and Dolly Olsby. He leaves to mourn, his son, Donn Marshall, of Weyburn, Saskatchewan; daughter, Heather Marshall-Hall of Neptune, Saskatchewan; four granddaughters and nine great grandchildren as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In the fall of 1947, Doug began working with RJ McRae Powerline Contractors in the Swift Current area and the following year, he began working the summers for SaskPower commission as a temporary lineman.
On May 1, 1955, Doug began his full-time lineman career with SaskPower. The following year, 1956, he married his beloved, Tannis.
Doug retired from SaskPower in September 1987 and shortly after retiring, he created Weyburn Technical Services. Doug went on to enjoy several more years of work.
A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace United Church ~ Upper Grace Hall, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. A Private Family Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
