Lillian was born in her father’s homestead south of Radville, Saskatchewan, on October 12, 1919 to Jake and Dorothy Becker and passed away peacefully at the Radville Marian Health Centre on November 6, 2010. She was the oldest of eight children – Lil, Fred, Charlie, Frank, Tillie, Jean, Floyd and Florence. Lillian married John “Jack” Robert Turner on September 27, 1945. September 27th was also Jack’s birthday. They lived on the Turner family farm southwest of Maxim where they raised their four children – Barry, Fern, Roger and Dallas. In 1963, they sold the family farm and moved to the Osage district where they managed a large farm for two years. Jack and Lil then moved their family to Radville where Lil worked in the Radville Marian Health Centre as an aid for eight years. She enjoyed her time working with the seniors that lived there, however she left in 1973 to clerk at the Coop hardware store for ten years before retiring. Jack and Lillian enjoyed 46 years of marriage together before Jack passed away on December 10, 1991. In 1992, Lillian made her choice to serve God and her faith was an important part of her life. Lil moved to the Storey Manor in Regina in 1993. Later on, she moved to the Hampton Apartments in south Regina. There, she enjoyed the many friends that came to visit her. Lil returned to Radville in 2003 and resided in the Marian Health Centre until her passing. Lillian spent most of her earlier days at home with her Mom and Dad helping with family chores. She worked as a telephone operator at Viceroy for some time and spent one winter in Vancouver working at the woollen mills. She aspired to be a nurse. Therefore, she was very happy when she started working at the Radville Marian Health Centre in 1964. Lil enjoyed gardening and was a very good cook - baking and canning for her family. The coffee was always on at Jack and Lil’s home with homemade pastries. Lil had a great sense of humor and loved a practical joke. Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Jake and Dorothy Becker; husband Jack; her brother Floyd Becker; sisters-in-law, Ora Becker, Esther Becker, Alice Turner, May Hendrickson, Elizabeth Sandoff, Evelyn Pomoty, Edith Skold and Isabelle Dunn; brothers-in-law, Don Barrett, Bob Oshanek and Ted Turner; and daughter-in-law, Elaine Turner.
