

Lucille (Fradette) Mazenc passed away early Saturday afternoon, March 25, 2023 in Radville, Saskatchewan after many years of a beautiful life. She was born on the home quarter, SE32-4-18W2 in the Rural Municipality of Laurier, Radville, Saskatchewan, November 6, 1927 to Emile and Agnes Fradette. Lucille attended Soda Lake District school and worshipped at St. Colette Roman Catholic Church. On July 24, 1945, Henry Mazenc and Lucille Fradette were married at St. Colette Church.
Her caring for and love of her siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren over her 95 years has impacted many families. Lucille was a very loving, affectionate and caring person in all her relationships. Family and community gatherings were a significant part of her life, being a strong member and volunteer with St. Colette Parish, Lacadia Community and Holy Family Parish.
She taught her children the value of close family, hard work, frugal lifestyle and the great taste of raw peas straight from her expansive garden on the farm. Lucille loved reading, card playing, community picnics, dances, travel and the right of a woman’s vote. She was a fabulous cook, talented seamstress and general handy woman.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Henry; her daughter, Helene Woitas; son-in-law, James Smith; grand-daughters, Jennifer and Candace VanDeSype; great grand-daughter, Hannah Mazenc; her parents, Emile and Agnes Fradette; her parents-in-law, Henri and Eugenie Mazenc; sister, Rose Eva Brown; brothers, Roger, Alex, John and Gilbert Fradette; sister-in-law, Doreen Fradette; brothers-in-law, Gordon Brown, Alphonse Fossenier and Robert Nimegeers.
Lucille’s memory is cherished by: Henriette (George) Dolak, Mirelle, Monique (Joseph); Lorraine Smith, Stacey (Greg) Weisbeck, Raeann (Will), Brittany and Megan, Cara Smith; Yvonne (Vern) Solie, Reena (Skip) Legien, Kasey, Ricki Jay, Layne, Nolan (Kenley), Rowan and Rawley; Bret (Ashlee) Solie, Jase and Presley; Mallory (Russell) Siebert, Lincoln and Acelyn, Brooklyn and Sierra; son-in-law, David Woitas, Derek (Jeannine) Woitas, Breanna, Kyden and Lennon, Kailee, Kylie and Jesse; Tania (Troy) Stengler, Tanner and Kiana; Renald Mazenc, Ryan (Pamela) Mazenc, Marie; Brandon Mazenc; Orin (Julia) Mazenc, Ava; Rosanne (Don) VanDeSype, Daina (Dean), September (Ryan), Brendin, Sadie and Ryder; Wade (Cheryl) VanDeSype, Linley, Kyle VanDeSype, Kelsey (Brett) VanDeSype.
Lucille is also survived by her siblings, Armand Fradette, Helen Fossenier, Theresa Nimegeers, Maurice (Carol) Fradette, Emelia (Wayne) Hunter; and her sisters-in-law, Arlene, Laurette and Yolanda Fradette.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Radville, Saskatchewan with Father Thuy Nguyen presiding. Interment to took place at Radville~Laurier Cemetery, Radville, Saskatchewan.
