I had the pleasure to shoot on the same squad as Rod and Kahl multiple times, the best was at the last Canadian Trapshooting Championship. Rod and Kahl tied in the Handicap Championship and shot off father and son. Rod prevailed and rounded off his Canadian Championship wins with the final piece of the puzzle. I will miss his stories. I share a picture of our squad in St. Thomas.

We used have a lot of laughs and good natured ribbing when Rod would come in for coffee when we had the restaurant. Rod would always bring some currency from the countries where he would be shooting in and give to to Dad as he knew he collected it. He will be missed.

Rod. The man ; the legend. Larger than life. He will be so remembered by so many the world over. The Olympic Rings tattoo. The shoot in Brunei and finally accepting the “special” tea. Catherine and I will always tell him “Jesus loves you”. It’s is a precious memory of him between her and I. I’m sure Catherine welcomes him. He will be so missed by so many. Gone too soon. The world isn’t ready to be without you.
Love to Terry Shoen Kahl and their families. Be with you in my heart tomorrow for the service

I lost touch with Rod over the years, but I do have many memories of him the summer we moved to Fillmore. I was 16, he was a year younger. I may have met him when we were younger, but I really got to know him that summer. He introduced me to life in Fillmore and showed me all the trouble you could get into.
It's never easy to loose a loved one or a friend. He accomplished so much in his short life and it seems his passing was very peaceful. That can provide some comfort.
Condolences to all the family. Time heals but memories live a life time.

Terry, Schon, Kahl and the rest of the Boll family please accept my most sincere condolences on the passing of Rod.
It was a sad day to hear of Rod's passing way to soon, the entire shooting community has lost a good friend and a great shooter.
It just won't be the same shooting without seeing Rod on the line or around the club house, he was indeed one of a kind and always eager to help and share his knowledge and shooting tips.
Rest easy Rod and break em all.

Though I did not know Rod all that well, he was certainly the sort of person who was a treat to be around. Rod joined our hunting group a few times in South Dakota, pheasant hunting. Each time he put on a clinic, shot the license limit of a few others and casually went about enjoying his time while enhancing ours. He never bragged, but often mentioned the “one” shot he missed.
This world (SK in particular) has lost a dandy!!

Trigger, Terry, boys and families. My thoughts are with you at this time. So many good memories of school, farming, having fun and sharing life. One of my fondest memories was Rico driving Maurice's (ho,ho's) old buick, Schön standing on the front seat between us, he was so excited, dad was beaming, on our way to see premier of Ghostbusters! Yes 36 years ago and yes Terry no seat belts.. Duck hunting with Rico and Trigger was always competitive, and interesting to watch I usually sat in the weeds with a huge smile on my face, while things unfolded. To the next trap with accuracy my old friend.

I met Rod in another lifetime through brother Kevin. For a few years this city girl hung around Kevin’s farm and Agribition (SBS Polled Herefords). Years later I returned to Fillmore’s 100 year celebration and remarkably Rod remembered me - and made me feel welcome. He was that guy.
My condolences to his whole family. Not easy to lose someone who will so obviously be missed.

I never did see Rod shoot, but I sure read and heard enough to know how good he was at it. He didn't brag about it. I'll never forget the fun visits at the old Fillmore Bar, usually including Brian, Drew, Andre, Leo and more too numerous to mention. Terry was there the odd time, too! Mostly sports talk. He had me out to the farm once for a barbeque on the deck. Delicious deer sausage! I'm sure he and Brian are talking hockey right now! Our sympathy to Terry and the boys.

I first met Rod in the summer of 1972 in Tisdale, Sk. Rod and I became teammates on the '72/'73 Tisdale Ramblers and we hung out as we were both single. My career took me away and we later became friends on Facebook. I was able to follow his career in trapshooting and was proud to tell people that I knew him. Recently we had messaged each other that we should get together for a beer once Covid-19 was gone. I was shocked this morning when learning of his passing. My condolences to Terry and the entire BOLL family during this saddest of times. R.I.P. My Friend.

Dawn and I had moved to Weyburn over 31 years ago and we had the pleasure of first meeting Rod when I went and played baseball with the Fillmore Rockets and then recreational hockey up until the last few years. He always had a friendly greeting for us and we considered him a good friend over all these years. We know he will be missed by Terry and family and the many other friends he has made over his lifetime. Our sympathy to Terry and family.

Grant and I want to express our sincerest condolences to Terry, Schon and Kahl as well as their families.
We have so many memories of family get togethers where laughter and food and drinks were shared. My parents took him in when he was studying in Saskatoon but by that time Grant and I had moved to B.C. so I missed out on those memorable times.
Rod had such great talent and brought pride to the town of Fillmore. He made the entire Boll family proud as well and will be missed by all of us who knew him.
Gone but not forgotten and forever in our hearts.
R.I.P. cousin.

Rod Boll, friend, fierce competitor, big heart. I was fortunate in my shooting career to have competed both with and against Rod at a national level and then with him as a teammate at international competitions representing Canada. You learn a great deal about a person when you travel and compete with them. What I came to appreciate most about Rod was his frankness about everything and his determination to break every target that he shot at! If he saw something in life or sport that he did not think was fair to everyone he would not hesitate to tell you about it. This attitude extended to sport as I can recall many discussions on ways to improve the sport, make it more accessible to all, and encourage young shooters.
Rod, it was an honor and a privilege to call you friend and to have you as a teammate. You will be missed.
My condolences to the entire Boll family on your loss.

A friend gone too soon is a tragedy. But what would have been worse is never to have met Rod. I am grateful to have been one of Rods many friends in life and will continue to be his friend in death, remembering him for all of his accomplishments; as a husband, as a father, as a grandpa, as a sportsman and trap shooting competitor second to none, as a farmer, as a Sask Rough Rider arm chair coach and many more.
Rods sudden passing affects everyone who knew and loved him. We will honor his legacy and remember him always for who he was.
My sincere condolences to Terry, and the Boll family. May God be with you all during this time.

Terry, Schon and Kal: My heartfelt condolences. Rod was forever there to help the team to shoot better and perform to our potential. Rod was known and loved around the globe. I shared this with friends on Facebook but wanted to share it with the family. 1999 Pan Am Games. I was on the Double Trap team. Rod was in the stands and I was just losing my head before the event. I went over and said something like "Rod Help!! My head is just spinning out of control!" He told me to think of a letter and just focus on a letter of the alphabet. So I did. I focused hard!! ...and for my first pair instead of calling "PULL", I called "D!" hit the pair and started laughing...settled down and came third in the event thanks to him! He is missed dearly. Virtual hugs to you all.

My cousin Rod was like a big brother to me when he lived with us in Saskatoon while he went to Kelsey in 1971/1972.. We had some great conversations. I still remember when Rod told me he had fallen in love with Terry. Condolences to Terry, their boys Kahl and Schon, and their grandchildren. He is gone way too soon and will be deeply missed by all of us who knew him and loved him.

Unfortunately, I am not among the fortunate people to have walked with Rod along his path, however it was providential that I found myself working along side his gentle and kind wife Terry in the Nursing Simulation Lab SIAST Regina. Terry spoke often and proudly of Rod, their farm, children, their trap shooting travels and accomplishments. Like so many Prairie folk and farmers, they loved to tell a good tale and a hearty laugh to wash it down. I am thankful for the memories that was given to me along my path.

Rod will be sadly missed at all the shoots that he attended in North America. I cannot think of a competitor in clay target shooting that broke targets with such a high desire to break them all . I am an admirer of such talent. My condolences go to his family. God bless you all. Take care and stay safe . “Shep”
