Charlet Kirby passed into Heaven on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 6:57 in the morning in her home with her husband and daughter by her side, she was 96 years old. She was born January 18, 1923 in Trinidad, Colorado, her parents were John & May Terry. After her parent’s death at an early age she moved to Denver, Colorado, and was raised by her Aunt Hattie and Uncle Alex. Charlet graduated from West High School in Denver. In 1941 Charlet met Edward Lee Lewis and they were married in Denver on February 24, 1942. They had two children, Edward Lee Jr and Nonya Kay, raising them in Arvada, Colorado. After a wonder life together and 26 years of marriage, Ed died in 1968. In 1972, Charlet met Leonard Kirby through her sister Dorothy. They married on November 17, 1972 and began their 47 years together. Charlet’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She retired after 32 years of service with Macy’s as a Gift Wrap Supervisor. Preceded in death by her first husband Edward Lewis, son Edward Jr, son-in-law Bill Durham, her parents and 12 of her sisters and brother. She was the baby of 13 children. She is survived by her husband Leonard, daughter Nonya Durham, grandchildren Troy Coates, Tia Orth (Rich), Tami Ouellette (Gene), Eddie Lewis (Barb)and Bill Durham Jr (Leslie), and 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including her dear friends Jack & Jinny Alvis
