Aaron Joseph Schmidt, lovingly also known as AJ, Air, Aaro, Ron, Ernie, Tio and Primo was born on Aug. 21, 1983 and passed away on Oct. 26, 2019 at the age of 36. A.J. was an irreplaceable friend, partner, son, brother, and dog dad. He had an energy, humor, wit, spark, and spunk that made him unforgettable to anyone who met him, and which sure made him a lot of fun to be around! He was someone you could count on when times were tough. He always lent a listening ear and offered a perspective you wouldn't find anywhere else. You never had to guess what he was thinking, because he would tell you (and boy, that is refreshing!) He had all the confidence in the world, with just as much heart. He was a softie when it came to rescuing animals, especially Chihuahuas. He loved beaches, Granada, flamenco dancing, pizza, and being “Puerto Rican”. If he was a star in the sky, he would be the only one we needed to light up the night. He is survived by his life partner Barry Hoyer; his Mother and Stepfather Karen and Scott Pieszchala; Father and Stepmother Donald and Carlene Schmidt; his sisters Rebecca Harvey; Sarah Pieszchala, and Danielle Pieszchala; his niece Kaylin Harvey and his nephews Evan Harvey, George Porter, and Joseph Porter; too many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins to name because we don’t have room; all of his adopted Puerto Rican family; and at least 1,000,000 close friends. He was the most wonderful, unique person who touched many lives with his kind heart and sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
