Ada Marie Phillips passed away after an illness on May 25, 2018, at the age of 89. Ada will be lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband of 69 years, Arthur. Ada is survived by her children, David (Alana), Mike (Diane), and Dennis (Lisa), grandchildren and great grandchildren who will hold onto cherished memories that this fine lady created over her years. Ada will also be fondly remembered by her surviving sister, Mary Grace, and extended family including numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Martha Ruth Garner Pedersen Bryan, and brother, James Dickson Garner.
Ada was born in Ringling, Oklahoma on March 25, 1929 to Eddie Clinton Garner and Ruth Dickson Garner and was raised by step mother Winnie Chaffin Garner. Ada finished high school in Ringling and attended Oklahoma A&M University. She then moved to Oklahoma City where she met and later married, Arthur. Ada and Art raised their family in Kansas City, Kansas, and St. Louis Missouri until they moved to colorful Colorado. Ada enjoyed working in food services at the School of Mines and Red Rocks Community College. She could turn any platter of food into a work of art! She loved family, friends, nature, and enjoyed hiking, fishing and occasionally taking her chance at the slot machines. Ada was a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and best friend. She will be missed and remembered for her loving spirit, her great sense of humor, and her faithful dedication to family and friends.
