He proudly served as a member of the 101st Airborne.
He worked as a printer for the Rocky Mountain News, where he was a proud member of the Typographical Union #49.
And, Rich was an eternal Broncos fan!
He is survived by his children, Jim Chavez, Cindy (Jim) Jager, Diane (Andy) McGrew and JoAnn (Bill) Byrne; grandchildren, Crystal, Cayla, Bobby, Joe, Brittany, Cassandra, Katie, Scott, Logan, Jackson, Madison, Billy and Mya.
Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, and grandson, Richie.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am, both at Olinger Crown Hill, 7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
