He is preceded in death by his father Aurelio Martinez and mother Marcelina Gonzales-Lopez, wife Olga Albertina Martinez, great-grandson Jeremiah Xavier Nunez, daughter Debbie Moreno, sister Candelaria Martinez-Aguilar, brothers Carlos Martinez, Angel Martinez and Juan Martinez and other family and friends.

He started working as a Hod Carrier and eventually became a Brick Layer. Prior to retiring he worked for a lawn service company and later on took over as his own business which was his passion. Popsey had an amazing green thumb, planting his garden and beautiful flowers in his yard was what he loved. Many times, he was asked to plant beautiful flowers in customers yards and was happy to share his green thumb with others.
Popsey was always willing to help others where needed. Family was his number one priority. He loved cooking for others and sharing his recipes. Fresh corn tortillas, tamales, salsa was the family’s favorite that he always enjoyed having when the family went over to visit. His yard was full of fruit and his garden consisted of, just to name a few, tomatoes, jalapenos, cucumbers, tomatillo, zucchini, squash and always shared with family and friends. His son and daughter-in-law will take on planting a garden in his memory and will continue the tradition of making tamales and canning salsa.
The family would like to thank great-granddaughter Jade Gonzales for the care and compassion she showed our loved one in his final days. Would also like to thank his daughter and son-in-law (Candy and Bob), grandchildren Bobbi (Jordan), Roxanne, Sonja, Michele (Albert), Farrah, Isaiah (Angelita), and Ariel), great-grandchildren (Raquel, Nathaniel, Deztini, Jayla, Davion, Unique, Ronald (RJ), Kayne, Zach, and Colton, niece Rita Trent and husband Tom, nephew Aurelio, nieces Laura, Candy and Gloria that came by to visit and spent time with him in his final days.
