February 11, 1984 – June 24, 2010
Alicia was born in Oregon, and was adopted into Barbara’s life at age 3. Barb was thrilled to have this sweet little daughter to love and care for…and the two of them formed a team that lasted throughout Alicia’s life during both joyous and sad times. Alicia was a great joy in Barb’s life, and Barb was her haven of strength.
As a young girl, Alicia was very outgoing and nurturing. She made friends easily, and dearly loved playing with her classmates and friends. She loved her cousins and quite often took care of her younger cousins. Alicia was an excellent reader and was especially fond of animal books (which has been passed on to her daughter Jasmyne, who loves animals of all kinds.) Alicia also loved writing which led to a lifetime of placing her thoughts, feelings and emotions in her many journals. Her writing was filled with wit, sentiment, and her outlook on life. When she could not speak her thoughts, she was able to write them beautifully and expressively. Alicia participated in the middle school youth group at Glory of God church and really enjoyed the many outings and experiences that they shared.
As Alicia’s life progressed, she achieved her G.E.D. and eventually her certification in cosmetology. She loved styling hair, as she did in a variety of hair salons, and also enjoyed “experimenting” on family and friends….showing her creative side. Her current job, which she started in December and enjoyed, was at Lms Intellibound, a trucking company for Shamrock Foods..
The joys of her life were Jasmyne….born June 30, 2002; and Jovan…born October 7, 2004. Alicia passionately loved her children…and was so proud of them, their individual personalities, and their achievements.
Alicia’s friends were very important and dear to her. Alicia had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit, and her friends said that she could always make them laugh.
Alicia experienced many complicated times and circumstances in her brief life – sometimes as a result of her health, sometimes as a result of life events…but she tried to get through the difficulties and get to a better place. Sometimes she failed, but many times she succeeded…and continued to keep trying to achieve a full, happy life for herself and her children.
At a time when she seemed to be meeting challenges and making gains in her life – her body gave up on her…leaving us to wonder what the future might have been. She had started taking on-line classes, with her goal to earn a degree in psychology.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends….but as they pass on their many fond and loving memories of her to Jasmyne and Jovan in the coming years, Alicia will always be remembered as a beloved daughter, a loving mother and dear friend.
Alicia Renae Moore age 26 passed away 6/24/10. She is beloved mother of Jasmyne and Jovan; beloved daughter of Barbara Ebbesen and beloved friend of many. She is also survived by her father John L. LaBorde of Hugo, CO. Memorial service Thursday, 11:00 am at Glory of God Lutheran Church, 12200 W. 38th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO. Condolences may be offered at www.crownhillfuneral.com.
