Alyssa Marie “Gracie” Nord passed away suddenly on February 14, 2025. Alyssa was born in Manila, The Philippines, on December 1, 1983. She was adopted by Don and Ann Nord, and she came to them in April 1985. She grew up in Colorado and lived here ever since. She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School, graduated from Denver Lutheran High School, and received an associate degree in culinary arts from Mesa State University in 2004. She worked at many places in the Denver area as a chef and other jobs, though her career was cut short as her physical ailments worsened.
Alyssa is survived by her son Ezekiel, her mother Ann and father Donald, her brothers Nathan (Jana) and Adam (Jennifer), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews.
Alyssa had a very happy childhood. Family was always very important. She enjoyed family vacations, including getting together with extended family at annual lake get-togethers. However, she faced many challenges throughout her adult life. She had numerous health afflictions, including a neuropathy that caused pain and impairment. Also, unfortunate luck brought injuries and other problems. Alyssa persevered, though, supported by her faith, her many friends, and her family.
She was a life-long Christian with a strong personal faith. Her love for her son Zeke buoyed her life, despite having to have help caring for him. Gracie had many good friends everywhere, some online across the country and some in the area, many through support groups.
Alyssa was a talented artist - painting with beauty and boldness. Paints and canvas were everywhere in her apartment. She enjoyed music and played piano and the violin.
She was well loved by her family and a large circle of friends. She will be missed greatly by everyone.
