Amado passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 17, 2020 at the age of 90. He was born in the city of Torreon, Mexico on 09/13/1929 and lived in Denver for the last 23 years with his children close by. His profession was as a construction worker throughout his entire working years. He was proud of all the numerous projects he worked on and enjoyed talking to anyone about it. He loved a good cup of coffee with a sweet Mexican bread while scratching the numerous lottery tickets he purchased. He was certainly very fond of scratch tickets and was well known at the nearby convenience stores he frequented in search of the lucky winning ticket! His other passion was making sure the squirrels who gathered in the backyard had food to eat. As much as his children asked him to stop feeding the squirrels, he did not listen. It was just easier to keep an extra loaf of bread in the house than to convince him to stop.
He is survived by his 5 children, Ofelia (Basilio), Estela (Lehi), Ana (Fernando), Arturo, and Enrique as well as his 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Siblings include, his sister Socorro, Anita, Rosa, and his brothers Refugio and Lupe. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leandro Roman and Ana Munoz and three of his siblings, Alfonso, Concha and Martin.
Visitation will be on Sunday, 02/23/2020 from 1 to 4 pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery. Funeral service will be on Monday, 02/24/2020 at 10 am also at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery. The address is 7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
