She was born to Carl and Norma Stamps on February 27, 1942, in Alamosa, CO.
A celebration of Ardith’s life will take place on Saturday, November 26th at 10:00 AM, at the Alamosa
Christian Reformed Church, 1861 County Road 10 South, Alamosa CO, followed by a graveside
ceremony. There will be a reception for family and friends after the service.
Ardith dedicated her life to selflessly serving others, whether as an interpreter for the deaf (her second
career), a Sunday school teacher or neighborhood mom/grandma. She never turned away an
opportunity to share her love and kindness. Ardith’s interests were many, but her passion was helping
children, particularly deaf children, and she devoted much of her adult life to improving the lives of these kids.
Ardith is preceded in death by her parents, sister Caroline, brother Raymond, husbands Don Lehnerz
and Carlos Montano and grandson Kendall Lehnerz. She is survived by her children, Teri (Michael) Paulone of Fishers, IN, Donald (Joy) Lehnerz of Fishers, IN, Tim (Nancy) Lehnerz of Parker, CO, Larry (Kathy) Lehnerz of Wiggins, CO and Tina “Bud” Lehnerz of Albuquerque, NM, as well as her 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and sisters Ruth, Gaye, Betty, Barbara and Kathy, and brothers Douglas, Eldon, Robert, Kenneth and Tracy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Society for Deaf Children, PO Box 23, Woodbine MD 21797 (check) or https://deafchildren.org/donate/ (online) in her memory.
We will always remember, no matter how good, or how bad any day went, Ardith always responded
with one phrase: “…and tomorrow? The sun is going to SHINE”. Shine on mom, we look to the day when
we will meet again in God’s Kingdom!
