Arlene was born July 14, 1937, in Hillsboro, KS to Albert and Anna Schmidt. She grew up on a farm and spent many hours working in the fields and doing farm chores. She graduated from High School and took Secretarial courses. She worked for many years as a Lab Tech at Rocky Flats until her retirement. She married John Hergert and they enjoyed many years of traveling with visits to Mexico and New England. She loved her family, her dog Schatzie, golf, watching Broncos games, playing Bunco, and cooking. She was a Deacon at Trinity Presbyterian Church and enjoyed visiting with church members.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, and sisters Salome and Vivian. Arlene is survived by her sister Norma, nieces Sandy (Larry), Greta (Leon), Karen (John), Kristine and nephews Sid, Gary (Norma), and David (Jeannie).
Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Thurs. May 31, 2018 at Olinger Crown Hill with services at 10:30 am on Fri. June 1, 2018 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 7755 Vance Drive, Arvada. Arlene will be laid to rest with her husband, John, at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
