Arnold "Arnie" R Cross of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on October 22, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on July 28, 1942, in Denver, Colorado, where he grew up. He was always proud to be a Colorado native.
Arnie graduated from East High School in Denver. He received his master’s degree at the University of Wyoming and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a civil engineer for Jefferson County for more than 30 years.
He was an active member at Spirit of Christ, a Catholic Community, where he sang in the choir and served as a reader. He was also involved with English Springer Rescue America (ESRA). From the time that Arnie was a young boy, he spent time in his favorite place Eldora, CO where he explored the surrounding mountains, trails and ran Log Cabin Corner Store during his summers throughout high school. He was an Eagle Scout, loved trains, as well as the arts which led him to frequently attend plays and musicals.
Arnie was always there for his children and was a part of their lives. He never thought he would become a grandpa in his lifetime, but for the past ten years he got to be one. His devotion ran deep: to his sister; to his brother, who passed away just seven months before him; to his children and grandchild; to his dogs; to his friends; and to his fraternity brothers. He will be remembered for his huge, loving heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Merrill Cross and Isabel Cross (Hansen) and his older brother, Allan Cross.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber Cross; his son, Spencer Cross; his grandchild, Piper Pearson Cross; his sister, Alice J. Anderson; his daughters-in-law, Heather Madson and Rachel Pearson Cross; and his nephews and nieces.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on November 2, 2026 10:30am in the Pavillion at:
