Betty Jean Bauer
August 12, 1931 – December 7, 2025
Betty Jean Bauer, 94, passed away peacefully in Littleton, Colorado. Born on her grandfather’s farm in Persia, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles Arthur and Mabel Loretta Kemmish and sister to Kenneth Charles Kemmish and Velma Arlene Kemmish Bardsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lambert Donald Bauer Jr., brother, and sister.
Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her five children—Yvonne Livingston, Kalen Bauer, Annette Martin, Michelle Newhard, and Mark Bauer—along with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She lived in Iowa, Florida, Tennessee, and Colorado; completed high school and enjoyed a lifetime of creativity and adventure. Betty loved making photo collages and albums, square dancing with her husband, researching genealogies, and traveling to all 50 states and several countries, including the UK, Germany, Italy, and Israel.
A 2003 cancer survivor, Betty was known for her kindness—especially her tradition of sending heartfelt greeting cards to family, friends and church members and staying in touch by phone with loved ones. Her favorite Scripture was the book of Proverbs, which she wanted to encourage her family to read for its wisdom and comfort.
In lieu of flowers, we request a charitable donation to: “The Bloom Flourish Thrive Foundation” for Bloom Hospice – Colorado in Betty Bauer’s memory.
Betty’s ashes will be lovingly inurned with those of her husband, Don at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Her gentle heart and steadfast love will be remembered always.
