On behalf of myself & my children, I would first like to say thank you so much for choosing to honor the memory of my mother with your presence here today. It is because of this time of uncertainty and precaution that we must conduct her service in this manner, and your attendance has helped make it that much more meaningful.
My mother was not only an elegant and classy woman guided by a strong faith in god, she was also a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, committed pet parent, and friend. My mother always brought a special effervescence to each and every room she entered. People just naturally liked her. This gift enabled her to become a very successful business woman. Betty worked her way up from a bank teller to eventually become the co-owner of one of the largest paint & body shops in Denver. She was also a prominent socialite, active in political and community organizations. Betty was also an avid bowler, a sport in which her skills garnered her quite a few awards and trophies.
No matter how busy her schedule got she always made sure her family's needs came first. Given the fact that I was her only child, that wasn't always easy for her.
I know every one of you here today has a special memory of my mother. It is my fondest hope that you will continue to cherish that memory in your hearts.
It was indeed a day of celebration and grace when, guided by both my grandparents, Elizabeth and Joe Reiter, as well as her brother, Dr. Donald Reiter, my mother walked through the gates of heaven. She will make a beautiful angel.
Thank you.
