Betty F. Gallegos

Born on March 11, 1932 to Don and Mary Vigil in Wagon Wheel Gap, Colorado, family moved to Red Cliff Colorado when Betty was the age of 4. She did not speak English, but was determined to learn, and she did, as she was a very bright and feisty little girl. She carried on that attitude throughout her life, very determined to do what she needed to do to survive. She married in 1958 and raised her family in Red Cliff until 1980 and moved to Denver with her husband and lived there until her death.

Education: GED, Certification completed for Culinary Assistant

Employment: Worked in kitchen in Vail, CO at the Red Lion Inn, and The Delicatessen. Moved to Denver in 1980 and worked at K-Mart, Quiznos, and retired from school cafeteria at Barney Ford Elementary School.

Hobbies: Enjoyed sewing, embroidery, knitting, hiking, lots of walking, fishing, dancing, gambling and thoroughly enjoyed going on road trips with her kids while they were growing up, and later with her husband Abedon. She also enjoyed baking, and singing (not famously of course), she was very smart, helped her husband remodel our home in Red Cliff.

Betty is survived by her children: Alveda (James) Pero, Brenda (Joe) Furtado, Anthony (Jeannie) Gallegos, Kathy (Rudy) Medina, Doreen (Daniel) Correa, Gary (Amy) Gallegos.

Grandchildren: Mary (Stephen) Spencer, Darlene Pero, Kristi Esparza, Elaine and Francisco Romero, Anthony and Geena Gallegos, Zachary Medina, Lenisa Correa, Nicholas (Kayla) and Brandon (Nicole) Gallegos.

Great Grandchildren: Alveda June (AJ), Marcos, Rosadio, Esai, Jaycee, Hayden, Mikayla, Gabryel II, Jeremy Jr, Jionni, Harper, Kane, Axton, Kamilla.

Great Great Grandchildren: Twins Michael and Matthew, Nicholas, Kaizen

Siblings: Priscilla Hernandez, Joe Vigil, Frank Vigil, Robert Vigil, Lillian Vigil, Phillip Vigil
