April 1, 1935- July 13, 2020
Bill passed away on July 13, 2020, at the age of 85. He was in declining health the last few months suffering several strokes and then a fatal heart attack.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Flossie Clegg. He is survived by his 5 daughters- Crystal Ranker, Carla (Alan) Buell, Caren (Brian) Crandall, Colleen Clegg, Corinne (Gene) Gray. He enjoyed his 9 grandchildren: Justin Buell, Shannon Buell, Jamie (Vogt) Anderson, Mandy (Vogt) Daigle, Kelsey (Gray) Parker, Kali Gray, Kole Gray, Emma McCluskey, Quin McCluskey, and 12 great-grandchildren. Also one sibling Marilyn (Clegg) Cummings and his best friend/cousin Dale Patterson.
Bill was born in Wichita Kansas on the Patterson family farm. He spent the rest of his life re-telling the wild adventures of his youth growing up there. He settled in Denver after school. Bill was self-employed owning Mile Hi construction, a commercial realty business and Whiskey Bill’s, a bar that was located on historic Colfax Avenue. Bill loved bike riding around Colorado, daily walks, a drive in his car, and coffee with his buddies. Bill loved sharing all of his knowledge of American history, the wild west and especially the presidents. He supported his daughters in their business adventures, and enjoyed spending time with all of his family. A road trip to anywhere was his favorite thing to do! His last trip to Wichita in April 2017 he hosted his family on a trip down memory lane, loving every minute! We can't forget his love/hate relationship with the Denver Broncos!
Here is to Bill, who enjoyed his favorite snack of popcorn, and a good nightly soak in the tub!
Please know at this time there is no official planned memorial but please do honor our father in any way you wish.
