Bill "Billy" McIntyre

Born in Denver, Colorado, to Clarence and Ann (née Turian) McIntyre, Bill spent most of his childhood growing up in Denver area. His parents owned and operated restaurants, where he developed a love for cooking and learned many of the skills he would carry with him throughout his life.

From an early age, Bill discovered a passion for music. He began playing the tenor saxophone as a young boy and continued to develop his talent as a member of the Lincoln High School band.

Later on, Bill followed in the footsteps of his father and older brother by joining the United States Navy. He served his country for three years in Vietnam, spending much of his service aboard the USS Hanson. His time in the Navy was a source of great pride throughout his life.

Following his military service, Bill obtained a degree in carpentry from CCD as well as taking part in the Red Rocks Community College woodshop program. Bill was a talented carpenter and later worked in the construction field. He later fulfilled one of his childhood dreams of working on the railroad when he accepted a position for the Rio Grande Railroad in Denver early in his career.

Early in life, Bill married and became the father of two sons and helped them throughout their careers and business endeavors.

Music always remained a constant throughout Bill's life. In addition to playing the tenor saxophone, he enjoyed the harmonica and percussion, performing with several local rock and blues bands over the years.

Bill also developed a great interest for motorcycle riding and became a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He owned several bikes, made yearly trips to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and participated in numerous fundraising rides around beautiful Colorado.

Beyond riding, he found joy in other numerous hobbies including model trains, leather crafting, and woodworking.

Bill took a keen interest in politics and often made day trips to the Colorado State Capitol. Bill was especially proud of his sobriety and considered it one of life's greatest blessings.

As a devoted mentor in AA, he found purpose in walking alongside others on their journey to recovery. Through his faith, love of God's Word & his avid reading of the bible, he offered strength and hope to those seeking healing.

Bill is survived by his older brother Harry “Butch” McIntyre (Mary) of Chicago, Illinois; his sons Brian McIntyre (Rhonda) of Lakewood, Colorado and Adrian McIntyre (Kathy) also of Lakewood, Colorado; his seven grandchildren, Rome, Ryan, Luca, Lauren, Jude, Riley and Gemma; niece Angela of Chicago, Illinois and nephew Greg of La Grange, Kentucky
