

Bonita was born in Lindsborg, Kansas on September 7, 1938 to Richard Hanson and Myrtle (Jacobson) Hanson. Raised on a farm outside of Lindsborg, she attended a one-room school house her first two years of schooling. Bonita ultimately graduated from Lindsborg High School in 1956. A few years later she moved to Denver, Colorado. There she met John (Jack) German on a blind date. They were married six months later on May 26, 1962. They were married for 58 years until Jack’s passing in 2020. They had two sons, William (Bill) and Paul. A stay-at-home mom for 13 years before being employed as a church secretary and pre-school teacher at All Saints Episcopal Church and Day Care in Denver. She retired in 2000.
Bonita loved to travel having been to all 50 states and several international destinations. Bonita was active in the Republican Party. She was the senior member of the Colorado Federation of Republican Women. She enjoyed daily devotions and was active in her church, Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Bonita collected elephant figurines and postmarks, the latter as a member of the Post Mark Collectors Club.
Bonita was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and her parents. She is survived by a sister, Karin Riggins (Roger); sons William (Kim) and Paul (Nell); grandchildren Michael and Elizabeth, and several cousins.
