Brenda Jo Licking

Brenda Jo Licking, 67, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, May 31, 2026 at her home. Born July 27, 1958 in Bluffton, Indiana, she was the daughter of Jerry T. Leimgruber and Shirley F. (Napier) Leimgruber.

Growing up in Wells County, Indiana, Brenda graduated from Bluffton High School with the Class of 1976. On January 19, 1980, she married Thomas Licking. In 1982, Brenda, Tom and their daughter, Nicole, would move to Winchester, Kentucky where she continued to be a florist and decorator. A few years later, Brenda and Tom had a son, Will. After Nicole graduated high school and left for college, Brenda, Tom and Will moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2001 and in 2018 she and Tom moved to Golden, Colorado.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Tom Licking; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Nicole Getzel and Edaan Getzel; son, Will Licking; sister, Barb (Ted) Gerber; brother, Shane Leimgruber; step-brothers, Scott and Jody Eisenhut; sisters-in-law, Linda (Gary) Gerhold, Betty Gatke and Jacque (Bill) Vall; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Jerry and Doris Leimgruber; mother, Shirley F. Satterfield; brother, Rick Leimgruber; step-brothers, Kim, Patrick and Tony Eisenhut; and her in-laws, William “Bill” and Ruth P. Licking; and brother-in-law, Edward Gatke.

A private family celebration of life for Brenda was held.
