

76, of Billings, MT., passed away March 21, 2017. Carl was born May 4, 1940 in Denver, CO to Carl W. Girardin and Virginia I. Hughes. He was baptized December 10, 1957, and confirmed December 22, 1957 at Hope Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Aurora, CO. Carl graduated from Manual High School in 1959. Carl married LaVonne Funk on October 28, 1966. He started his career with the Steiner Corp. at the American Industrial Branch in Denver in the 1960’s making friendships that lasted all his life. He and his wife moved for the company to Billings in 1988, retiring in 2005, after 45 years. Carl loved fly fishing, golfing, and bowling with the Old Country team. He was a member of the Sabers Auto Club, worked at the Continental Divide Raceways as track electrician with his special friend Pat McCombs. Carl’s first National Bowling Tournament was with the Old Country team. He received his 25 years National Bowling tournament plaque in 2016. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Helene Girardin, his brother Leonard and his stepbrother, Jerry Geib. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, LaVonne, his sister Donna Furgeson, stepbrothers Thomas Geib and Richard Geib, his aunt, Della McCarty, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
