Carol was born in Normal, Illinois to Ivan L. Wiley and Ruth M Wiley on September 7, 1930. Her parents preceded her in death. After graduating High School in Illinois, she attended college in Iowa where she received a teaching certificate. She then moved to Colorado in 1950 to attend D.U. And graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1952. In 1956 she married Clyde Pennington and they were blessed with 3 daughters Penny, Lilly (Tom), and Susan (Ben), 4 Grand Children, Andy, Sara, Jenny, and Ansley, and 7 Great Grand Children. Carol and Clyde divorced in 1967. In 1969 Carol married Rufus (Bob) Shaylor and were married until Bob passed away in 1988. Carol worked for the Keebler Cookie company for 35 years. Carol passed away on May 28, 2026 after a brief illness.
