Charlene A. Griesinger

September 10, 1950November 28, 2019

Charlene Griesinger (Char), 69, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019. She was born in Northampton MA on September 10, 1950, and grew up in Williamsburg MA, the daughter of the late Carl and Lottie (Toski) Sylvester. Charlene graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1968 and later attended Northampton Commercial College where she studied Business. She worked in the insurance industry until 1972 when she relocated to Denver. It was there that she met and married her husband, George. Throughout her life she was active in her church and enjoyed homemaking and homeschooling her 2 boys whom she cherished most of all.

Charlene leaves her loving family, husband George, sons David and Jonathan and her daughter-in-law, Armida, as well as sisters; Dotti Kirkpatrick of Goodyear, AZ, Susan Sylvester of Montague, MA and Kathy Sylvester of South Deerfield, MA. She also leaves her faithful furry friend, Migo, who never left her side.

Although Charlene survived breast cancer earlier in her life, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in August 2018. She was cared by her husband who was by her side throughout her illness and at the time of her death. She endured many trials in her life and was a courageous, beautifully sensitive woman. We remember her for her many quotes and quips and for her profound wisdom in times of great sadness and despair. We also remember how silly and funny she could be and how much happiness she brought to our lives. She was a person that, when you met her for the first time, you felt like you knew her your whole life. When she walked into a room, everyone was drawn to her. She had that way about her, an open book, humble, unassuming, beautiful and kind. Charlene saved her mother’s life by getting her help at a time when no one else knew how to help. Charlene was there and her family is eternally grateful to her. We could not love her more.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church at 5675 Field Street, Arvada Co 80002.

Charlene was a beautiful and wonderful individual. She was vivacious, friendly and sincere. She truly made you feel welcomed with her kindness and fun filled spirit. Charlene brought such joy to everyone she met. She had this infectious laughter that brightened your day and made you look forward to the next time you would meet.

I was privileged to have known Charlene for 36 years and cherished her as a friend. She will live forever in our heart and memories.
We love you Charlene ,

R.I.P. I remember from school days. Life is so short, memories of anyone you knew in life are so important.

Dear, sweet, Charlene
You have been called home and now your pain and suffering have ended. You truly were an angel in our large family of Sylvester’s, Kneeland’s, Fishers and Toskis—God knew we didn’t have many angels—but he has called you home to reunite with the entire generation who have passed before you—your mom, dad, aunts, uncles and grandparents. They are so pleased you have joined them. What a Christmas celebration it will be this year in heaven.
With love and sweet memories of years passed,
Marianne Fisher Donohue Green
