

He was born to Eloy and Lucy (Salas) Casias in Trinidad and graduated from Primero High School. Chuck was preceded in passing by his parents (Eloy is a well known coal miner in the Allen Mine), brothers, Henry, who perished in the Vietnam Tet Offensive, Butch, and Stanley.
Chuck is survived by his wife Diane (Erdahl), brother, Juan Anthony Casias, and sister Judy Casias (Pope) in the Denver area, sister, Sharon Casias (Dallas) in Nebraska, daughter, Jocelyn Casias (Sandoval), son, John Casias, grand-daughter, Amber, great-grand-daughter, Lilly, and numerous cousins in the Denver area.
Chuck joined the Navy in ’68 and served 6 yrs. at Holy Loch, Scotland, where he also mastered golf in its near gale-force storms. Coors hired Chuck a week after discharge, where he worked as a precision machinist, inventor, Engineering Tech in Packaging, until he retired after 34 yrs. Chuck travelled extensively in Europe, preferring Spain and Italy. He enjoyed skiing, attending NASCAR, especially Talladega, and drove the Las Vegas track at @130mph. In retirement, Chuck continued to travel, play 18 holes of golf, twice a week, tend to his acre of trees, feed birds, and delight in family visits and with cute Lilly, until this past September when a terminal illness reduced his endurance.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Heritage Hall, on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to an organization that assists our Military Veterans.
