Christy Kay Macca

Born October 22, 1943

Christy Kay Hewett Macca, 75 of Lone Tree Colorado passed away on October 5, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family.

Christy was born to Vern Hewett and Ione Hewett (Hoskins) in Carroll, Iowa on the 22nd of October 1943. Christy selected a career that best describes her, as a health care provider. After attending Denver South High School she attended the University of Arizona, Arizona State University and Arapahoe Community College. After a long nursing career, she began working at the Paramount Theater, University of Denver Ticket Office, and many happy hours with her work family at the Colorado Rockies.

On December 22, 1978 Louis Macca married his dear Christy, and together joined a family. Christy is survived by her children Ron Anderson (Kathy), Holly Anderson (Bobby Antuna), Penny Powell (Ed Miller), Peter Macca (Rhonda), Lydia Macca (Damon Mares), Lori Porter, and Leslie Salas.

Christy was blessed with many grandchildren and she and Lou together watched Kayla and Tara Antuna, Max Macca, Nicole Mares (Roberts), Shannon Mares (Southard) and Robbie Porter grow up; and then (as if that wasn’t enough to keep her busy) she was blessed with great grandchildren Lillian and Dahlia Southard, Emily Roberts and Hayden Porter. Christy was also an amazing Aunt to Robin Dyson (Will).

Among Christy’s many, many hobbies, her doing whatever needed to be done attitude, and zest for life, she golfed, watched movies, knitted, did basket weaving, played the ukulele, made beautiful stained glass, had many adventures scuba diving, sailing, and snorkeling. And we should mention, baseball, the Colorado Rockies and every event she participated in with her favorite team family! She absorbed so many friendships through her activities that made her friendly smile so contagious to everyone she met.

When you look at life, you look at people who will always be apart of what you did with your life. First, my parents, they were tough, but they made me the person I am today Then Holly, who put me on track to live the life i always dreamed of. My mother-in-law Christy, where do i start, she lived a awesome life, If she owed you a penny she paid you. Treated me the best and was always more concerned about us then herself. My children will miss her, and everyday my wife always has something to say about her mother that brings her to tears. Life isn't fair, because we don't want to see people move on, but it's what we learned from them that we pass on to our children, family, and friends. The lord has a special angel in heaven and when she arrived they already knew her name. Christy Macca.
