Corinne was a born leader, paving the way for her identical twin sister, Christine. The two were born just 17 minutes apart. She grew up with two older sisters and an older brother, and from an early age, Corinne showed strength, resilience, and determination.
Corinne became a mother at a young age, welcoming her first daughter, Denise, in 1969. As a teenager, she raised Denise as a single parent, working hard to provide for her. She found employment at a children’s store making baby shoes at TV Booties, and later built a long and successful career as an accountant for the City of Denver.
In 1982, Corinne met Raymond Madrid, and the two quickly fell in love and married in 1983. Through this marriage, Corinne became a stepmother to two children (Ray Jr. and Cristal), and together she and Raymond welcomed their daughter, Debra, the following year.
After 25 years of dedicated service with the City of Denver, Corinne retired—but retirement didn’t last long. She soon found one of her most fulfilling roles as a security guard at Lincoln High School. Known for marching the halls to make sure students made it to class, Corinne formed special bonds with both students and staff. Students loved joking and laughing with her during their free periods, and she was deeply loved and respected by the entire school community.
Corinne loved life and adventure. One of her favorite pastimes was going to “the hill,” often found enjoying time at a casino in Black Hawk. She also cherished fishing and camping trips with her husband. A friendly and generous woman, Corinne was known for always feeding people, opening her home, and bringing friends and family together. Her fiery spirit, warmth, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Corinne is survived by her loving husband, Raymond; her daughters, Denise (Toby) and Debra (Zach); and her beloved grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jordan, Jade, Olivia, Alora, and Atlas. She is also survived by her twin sister, Christine; her sister, Diann; her brother, Herbie; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her mother Lucille, father Charles, sister Katie, niece Connie, nephew Randy and Denise’s father Joe.
Corinne will be remembered as a strong, loving, and giving woman whose spirit and kindness touched countless lives.
