

In the early hours of June 15th, 2026, Dan joined his wife, Theresa Pugh, and his sons, Larry and Leroy Pugh, in heaven. He leaves behind his brother, Donald Pugh and sister, Darlene Burns, his daughter, Lori (Joe) Montoya and his youngest son, Lyle Pugh. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Lanessa (Pugh) Casica, Kaylena, Taryn, Aaron, Logan, and Lexsi Pugh.
Dan was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 11, 1942 to parents Harold E. Pugh and Lois Rae (Whitlinger) Pugh. He lived there until the age of 18 when his mom became a Civil Servant on Edwards Air Force Base. He met his wife, Theresa, on Edwards Air Force base in California. He married her on March 3, 1962. After the wedding they moved to Monrovia, CA.
He and Terry welcomed the arrival of their daughter, Lori June in September of 1963 and son, Larry Eugene on March 30 of 1965. In 1964 the family moved to Pomona, CA where they welcomed two more sons, Leroy John in December of 1967 and Lyle Daniel on in May of 1972. The Pugh family moved to Colorado in 1980 and lived in Trinidad. In 1982, they moved to Aguilar.
In Denver the Pugh family branched out by adding 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Leroy blessed them with Lanessa Nicole in June of 1990, Kaylena Lorielle in September of 1992, and Taryn Krystle in April of 1994. Lyle blessed them with Aaron Dalton in February of 2003, Logan Joel in November of 2006, and Lexsington Ariel in March of 2008. They were blessed with great-grandchildren Isabella Leylah in February of 2009, Levi Ian in December of 2017, Remi Grace in August of 2019, and Rowan Lee in July of 2022. Dan loved his grandchildren and enjoyed being part of their lives.
Dan was a man who loved capturing memories, whether through his photography or videography. Because of his passion for preserving life’s special moments, he left behind countless photos and home videos that will continue to bring his family joy for generations to come. Through his camera, he gave his family the gift of being able to revisit the moments that mattered most.
He could often be found with a glass of sweet tea in hand, enjoying his favorite black and white cowboy shows. He had a passion for firearms and took pride in his collection. Dan carried a special place in his heart for his beloved wife, Terry, who he missed everyday since her passing 10 years ago. Their love and the life they built together remained a cherished part of who he was. His memories, stories, and the love he shared will live on through all those who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Visitation will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, on July 1, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place the following day, July 2, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, with a reception to follow.
He will be laid to rest at Knights of Pythias Cemetery, 28960 County Rd 57 3, Cokedale/Aguilar, CO 81082 on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 at 1:00pm.
