David was born on November 24, 1940 to Harold and Clara (Frances McDongald) Foy in Moab, UT.
David’s dad was a rancher, so David spent many years herding cows across the desert from Moab, UT to Crescent Jct, UT. Moab was a perfect place for him to grow-up. He had many cousins, explored the cliffs, caves, and the desert. Many John Wayne movies were filmed in Moab and David and his parents were extras in few films.
David graduated from Moab High School. He worked at the Uranium plant in Moab.
David married Shela Pound in 1961 and together they had three children: David, Noreen, and Normand.
David and his family moved to Denver, Colorado so he could go into an apprenticeship to become a Commercial Air Conditioner Mechanic. David worked at this for many years. He eventually opened up his own business called Foy Mechanical Inc. David retired in the early 2000.
David and his family enjoyed Colorado by hiking, fishing, and camping. The family vacationed in Utah, Montana, California and the state of Washington.
February 7, 1981, he married Darlene Succo in Brighton, Colorado. He welcomed and became a stepfather to: Linda, Jerri, Mark, and Michael.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and being with Darlene. David took many trips to Alaska and Canada to go fishing. He also traveled to many places in the US, Mexico, and Europe. David took many trips to Disneyland for his son, which is Davey’s favorite place, with a half-smile. David loved working in his garden and making his famous hot chili. He also enjoyed his football pools and going to Black Hawk. David raised chickens that thought he was their dad. The chickens loved David. If someone else went to go see the chickens and David was not with you, you would not see the chickens. They stayed in the chicken coup until they heard/saw David.
