Mrs. Deborah Lee Book was born on April 29th, 1955 in Encino, CA. After battling with terminal cancer for over a year, she went home to be with Jesus Christ on August 27, 2011. Deborah was the only daughter of the late Richard and Luabelle Twait. She married Thomas Lee Book in Encino, CA and they moved to Wheat Ridge, CO where they have resided since. They have two children, Travis and McKensie Book, a beautiful daughter-in-law, Julie Book, and a wonderful grandchild, Noelani Book.
Deborah was a homemaker for most of her adult life and she enjoyed creating floral arrangements for others in her free time. Deborah accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior over twenty years ago. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was always prepared to defend her faith and beliefs when challenged to do so. She loved spending time with her family, relaxing and talking about all the various current events, and teaming up with her daughter-in-law during debates against her husband and son. She was always interested in what was going on in everyone’s lives and never wanted to draw attention to herself. She was always willing to listen and offer godly advice whenever difficulties arose.
Deborah was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She accepted people for who they were and never judged them for what they had done. She always gave so selflessly to others. Whether it was with a strategically placed note, a small gift, or a few kind words, she would do whatever she could to brighten anyone’s day.
Deborah touched the lives of many people. Although she had physically changed from facing the challenges of her many illnesses, her mind and spirit remained intact. She maintained her sarcastic sense of humor and lightheartedness all the way up until her last days here on earth. She will forever be loved and remembered for her faith and perseverance to never give up even when life is filled with obstacles. Her hope in the Lord is a testimony to us all.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, August 30th, 2011, at 3pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery. Out of respect for Deborah’s dignity, there is no scheduled viewing prior to the scheduled service.
The family has asked that memorial donations be made to “Plant your roots in Israel.” This is a campaign organized by Pastor John Hagee, one of Debbie’s favorite pastors. Debbie was a firm believer in supporting Israel because of what God’s Word says in Genesis 12:2-3 when God speaks to Abraham saying, “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Please view the following website for more information: www.jhm.org/Donation/Plant_Your_Roots
