Wow, I don't believe  my friend is gone. I only found out this evening when I googled your name  just trying to ensure you were still at Dr. Haung's office. My heart is broken. You and I go way back to the Denver Health days. I followed you because not only did you make me look better you made me feel better. Just can't believe it. I was going to make an appt. With you for this upcoming week. Well, I  will see you again soon, dearest. Rest well.

I was a patient of Debbie's. I just called Dr. Huang's office, and the receptionist informed me of her passing. I knew her only from those periodic interactions, but her sweet demeanor and kind heart made a strong impression on me. We always had fun conversations, and I'm deeply saddened by her passing. Oh Deby. I am in shock, disbelief and heartbroken by the news of Deby’s passing. Today when I sent her a txt to be safe in the bombogensis storm that was hitting Denver I learned of her passing.  I have missed her a ton since needing to move back to VA. I think of her often and when we talked it was like no time had passed. She was a beautiful soul with a giving, generous and full heart. We clicked the moment I met her and formed a long friendship. She and her family did so much to help me out during a very dark time. She was always such a warm and caring woman ... and friend. She was so wonderful with her grandkids. Loved and adored each and everyone of them. Lit up everytime they were around. 

To Deby: I miss our talks. I miss your laugh. I miss you. Deby, you are now free to fly and find your peace.  Soar. Until we meet again —- RIP. 

I met Deb when I started working at Dr.Huangs office. The first day on the job was a blur but one memory stands out; it was the end of a long busy day, my head spinning with new information and new faces- and then there was Deb. She came up to me, basically a stranger at this point and she said " I am so happy you are here." And we embraced like two people who had known each other forever. I remember her sincerity, her kind warmth.Deby and I clicked. Our co-worker friendship quickly developed into kind of a mother- daughter friendship. We would go shopping some weekends, see movies, go out to eat and share a plate. If I needed pampering she would invite me over to her house for a in home makeover. She always made me feel beautiful, not just with makeovers but with her words. We shared stories of our lives without judgment. Deby was so much more than a co-worker to me.  Deb provided me of a sense of "home" when I felt uprooted or needed a safe space. 
I often tried to remind Deb of her beauty, inside and out. She was hard on herself. She ached. She ached for love from places she wasnt getting it. Her body was giving out from the stress but she always kept going. I started to believe she was invincible. 
Losing deby feels like I have lost a home. I've spent the last week and a half like a lost puppy. A broken compass that can't find true north. When I look at my son, I remember deby being there for me when I was terrified to find out I was pregnant. She would hug me and tell me over and over what a blessing my son was. She supported me when my own family couldn't,  or didn't know how. She offered to be my first phone call if I went into labor unexpectedly.  She offered to watch my puppy. She offered herself to others unlike anyone I have ever met; taking more and more on her plate because THAT is the loving and devoted person she was. I pray for my soul mother, my sailor mouthed companion; the most caring and genuine person, I had the honor of calling my friend. 

I just found out today of your passing. I just saw you on February 20th. I am so heart broken to say the least. You were not only taking care of me, but also became my friend.  Rest in peace beautiful lady...I will miss you, your flip flops, and beautiful heart...Kristie 

I was heartbroken to hear of Deby's passing last week.
She was a wonderful person, and took such good care of me when I was in the office.
She became a friend, and often popped in to say "Hi" even when my appointment wasn't with her.
Her smile was infectious, and I always loved our conversations. I will miss her greatly...

Heaven received a beautiful Angel, Deb Garland.   I  am so deeply saddened to hear of her passing.   Deb was a strong and incredible woman.   I loved seeing her and sharing stories about life. Dearest Deby,

I was so thankful when I moved to Denver and was able to connect with you as a patient.  I spent five years getting to know you and always looked so forward to catching up.  You were such a loving, kind, compassionate person and I will miss you so much.  I simply can't believe you are gone; rest in eternal peace. 

I am a patient and just saw Deb a few weeks ago. We talked about her sister-in-law and my sister and I am just so shocked. She was a truly giving person with a loving, unselfish heart. 
Sometimes it is so difficult to understand God’s plan.

My heart hurt so hard when I read my email from Dr. Huang.  I have been in shock ever since.  You have the most patience of anyone that has ever had to deal with me.  I loved coming in to see you and listen to you talk about your grandkids and know you loved them more than anything.  To me, the coolest thing about being a kid, is having a gramma in your life.  Its fun to go to school and brag to the other children about, your gramma.   I know they will miss you and I believe you tried so hard to try and keep the family together more than anything.  Everyone only has "one mom" and they are irreplaceable.  You have helped me understand the alzheimers my mom lives with now, and it's so hard because I really don't have a mom anymore.  I'd give anything to have my mom back for one day to be able to tell her everything I love about her and how my love for her is unmeasurable. Deb, you are the most wonderful person a friend could have, you loved your job, your patients, all your co-workers, your boss (you adore), but I think you really looked forward to your grand kids and giving all you had inside of you to keep the family together.  You will be missed forever at the office and I am sure by everyone's life you  became a part of in anyway of their lives. I really love you Deb, and its still so hard for me to accept I will never see you or your sweet smile again.  A smile that always beamed through, no matter what was going on in your life. I can't miss seeing you today, I have to tell you in person, I just love you Deb. I have to see you. I believe you will know I am there .

Deb, I am at a loss. You were / are such a generous and genuine person. Thank you for including me with your kindness.

Deb was my friend and i loved her. She was open and real. She was kind and loving.  She loved her grandchildren more than she could say. She would do anything to see their faces. She lit up when she talked about them. Thank you to those babies that brought light into her life. Deb was a fighter-she kept swinging even when the ones she loved so caused her pain . . She was never going to give up.  The last time i saw my friend, I could see she was so tired.  . I hugged her tight and told her to hang on.  I loved Deb. She was such a good friend.  She deserved more than her life gave her.  She gave more than she got.  But at the end i am so grateful she has the peace she so richly deserves. Godspeed my friend.  I hope you know how loved you are 

I was Deb's patient for at least 7 years now.  I would gladly drive over an hour each way to see her.  Deb was extremely gentle and kind.  I am a huge baby when it comes to pain, and she would never rush me...and just let my high-maintenance self sit there with the numbing Popsicle at each injection site as long as I wanted.  I'm truly ridiculous, but she never made me feel like I was.  

Even more important than her kind and gentle touch as a nurse, Deb was a true "light" in this world.   I loved our talks.  I would go months without seeing her, but the second we got back in a room together it was like picking up where we left off chatting about our lives.  She was beautifully open, honest and vulnerable.  I really will miss her.  

 I thought we were supposed to solve all the problems of the world together.  I love you and will miss you forever. 

Sweet Deby, my heart breaks.  What a huge loss to all of us left on this planet.  Your laugh still rings in my ears, your loving heart still lives in mine.  Your generous spirit cast a wide net of which so many of us were captured by the light that is you.  The days moving forward are dimmer without your presence.  

This is such shockingly heartbreaking news. My heart aches for Deb's family. I was only her patient for one appointment and in that one, short time she left a lasting effect one me. She was so so so kind and lighthearted and endlessly loving. She asked me what my Christmas plans were at the end of my appointment, I told her I had none because I was new to town and didn't have family here. She instantly invited me to join her family for waffles. She exuded unending love, it was in her speech, in her eyes, in her tight hugs. I am very thankful for having met her and for the beautiful way she's touched my life. My most sincere condolences to her family and friends.  

Peace be with you Dear Deb. You were always so kind and caring. Thank you for the love you shared so easily and your gentle expertise. You are greatly missed.

It’s been a whirlwind these last few days. Our hearts have been so sad and broken. Ayden keeps asking where you are. I keep wanting to pick up the phone to dial your number for our daily conversations. We miss you so much. You deserved so  much more love than what you were given.  You deserved so much more support than what you were given. You were the glue that held everything and everyone together. So much so that you were the one left out and not taken care of. I know you now have all of those things that your heart so desperately desired. I see you flying free like a beautiful butterfly. I know you are in the loving arms of Jesus in complete peace. I will remember the last words you spoke to me the night before you passed. You said “thank you for being auch a blessing in my life.” I say to you, you are the blessing. We love you and can’t wait to be with you again. As Ayden says, there is no such thing as a forever goodbye, it’s see you soon. 💗💗💗  Until then..... 

What a loss... My heart is broken. Deb was one of my favorite people and I always looked forward to seeing her and catching up. Despite everything she had endured, she had so much love for her family and friends. Her grandchildren meant the WORLD to her and I hope they all know how much she loved them. She was such a special woman and I will remember her always. I hope you have found some peace, Deb--you truly deserve it!!

My sweet, dear mother. Last Sunday was the worst day of my life. So many questions left unanswered. I see so many struggle with that, and I do so as well. Saturday you spent the day with my children as they were such a light in your life. I have gone through so many emotions, and so many life changing experiences since that day. There is much angst from losing you. I can not ever truly express my sorrow for no one should lose their mother. I see here all these wonderful kind words... and in turn have also seen and heard some difficult words from your friends. We are all hurting, I understand. These days have been so conflicted and painful and I have missed you so, even if you could never feel that. I choose to remember you as a woman with struggles that so dearly loved people. A woman that tried and fought. I will continue on your courage and strength and love, as you have started that in me since a young child. I will remember our teas with you and grandma Frankie and grandpa Lloyd. I will remember the good times and bad. I will continue to help people, to speak out, and to stand up for people. And myself, as you taught me to do. My children and I cry for you, our hearts are broken. I prayed for you every day, and will continue to do so. You spoke of meeting your maker, and how glorious it would be, since as long as I can remember.  I pray that you have the eternal peace and joy that he has promised you as his faithful servant. I know you tried, I know this life was hard. Such a broken world. I had the privilege of saying goodbye at your deathbed, with all the shock, I’m so grateful to kiss you on the cheek and tell you I love you,  to play “I can only imagine” as you took your last breath as Dad rubbed your head like always.  I’m grateful to God for giving me that chance in the most difficult of circumstances. I hope you are dancing and singing with joy as you watch us from heaven. I am lost for words. This incredible woman has been with me for the past two years. She made me feel beautiful when I didn't want to look in the mirror.  She was so full of kindness and compassion. She was the most selfless person on the planet. I am heartbroken for the loss of my friend Deb and although our relationship started in a professional environment, it quickly grew to much more than that. She was my friend, my confidant, my pal. I am deeply saddened when the news of her passing came. I will always remember her beautiful smile and the incredible person she is and was. Deb, you will be in my prayers and on my mind forever. My heart is so very, very sad thinking about Deb not being in the world with us.  She was such a caring, beautiful, loving and kind soul.  I had the privilege of being with her 2 days before she passed and her strength, beauty and kindness  inspired and nurtured me as always.  
It is unbelievable that Deb is gone.   Words can't do her  justice. Wishing her spirit the peace that is so very much deserved and may her memory live in all of us and bring out the best in each of us as it did before she passed.

Deb was an amazing person. One of the most caring, giving people I've ever known.  From the many laughs shared, movie nights, doing our nails and YouTube tutorials, I'll never ever forget you my friend.  I cherished our friendship. Coming to work knowing you were there made it so much easier.  You were someone I could come to whenever I needed someone to talk to.  I trusted you, believed in you and I'll be missing you each and every day.  I cant believe your gone.  This world is a lesser place without you. Rest in peace Deb

I met Deb when I went to her office , I immediately  loved her , a genuinely sweet and kind person, she worked hard and mentioned her grand kids often  and her love for her kids.  I don’t know how I will handle not seeing my friend I will miss her smile and our intense talks about our lives , she was a beautiful person inside and out. Deby, you were a rock! Meeting you at DH in 2014, Being the weekend OR charge RN, always knew the shift would be great with you there. Worked very hard and cared so much for your family and those precious grandbabies of yours. This news has just completely thrown me off, as we had plans to meet for coffee. You are loved by so many and will be remembered and missed forevor.  We have lost a great friend here on earth, but the ANGELS in heaven have gained a wonderful woman! I have visions it is just absolutely beautiful where you are now.  Bless your family in this time of grief. Never ever to be forgotten <3

I don’t know where to begin..Deb and I met during orientation, in nursing school.  We started chatting and had a bunch of things in common.  I was not able to finish my nursing degree at the time, and graduate with Deb,  however, we remained friends through the years, from my moving out of CO, to WA state, and now VA.  We’d often speak on Mon or Tues mornings when I was out walking my dogs.  We talked about everything from our love of animals, to the latest makeup/products we purchased at Sephora-and in between, chatted about life. 
I don’t think Deb realized how special a person she was; incredibly humble, generous and selfless-and I’ve met few people with these qualities. 
I will miss you my dear friend. I love you.

Deby found me in massage school 17 years ago.  I have worked on her every week for the last 17 years.  The hours with her were as much therapy for me as it was for her.   She helped me learn and prefect skills I never got in school.  

Deby, you watched Brianna and Katie grow up, and let me bend your ear any time things got hard.   

Thank you for everything you have given and for me over the last 17 years.  I love you so much and will miss you every day. 

I met Deby around 2013.  My mom and I had gone to her office for an appointment.  6 months later I returned to her office.. but without my mom because she had died.  We chatted that day and found out that we had a lot in common especially with some big life events.  I left her office feeling like she wasnt just my nurse but a friend.  Later that week she sent me a card because she could see how broken I was..she got it.  This card, from almost a stranger,  was one of the most precious and helpful things at that time..so very thoughtful.  From that point we did lunch on occassion..messaged here and there on text and Facebook.   Schedules were hard to coordinate.. I sure wish I would have tried harder...you deserved that..

Deby and I were in nursing school together. We used to study at the breakfast restaurant a few blocks from school. Some of my favorite memories. Deby was a hard worker and excellent role model. I'll miss you, friend. Love and prayers.

We were in nursing school together. I remember both of us had been out of the school setting for a number of years. It was difficult for us to get back in the studying mode. We would spend all the free time with our noses in our books, testing each other. We passed and became great nurses. Thank you DEBBIE for the support, teamwork and carrying. Love ya, Colleen.
