She took her last breath on June 21, 2026 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Diane Kay Glenn was born April 14, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1962 and went on to earn an Associate’s degree from Colorado State University. Diane enjoyed a career with United Airlines for 39 years as a flight attendant.
Aunts occupy a special place in family life: confidantes, second parents, the keepers of family stories that parents won’t tell. Diane was no exception. In the truest sense, Daine was everyone’s favorite aunt. She never missed a birthday or special event. Her nieces and nephews were always an important part of her family life. As life moved on, she also played a large and loving part in great, and great-great nieces and nephews as well. To the family, she was known as “Dido”, this name came from her nephew Jeff, who at a young age was unable to mutter the name Diane, and thus settled on Dido, and the rest is history.
Diane cherished a loving relationship with her partner of nearly 40-years, Harry. They shared a life together that included travel and spending time with their families. Diane was a close and devoted friend to many that she shared her life with. She was always there for support, advice and a shoulder to lean on when needed. Maintained a close relationship with several co-workers in retirement, as well as extended family and neighbors.
From the 1964 Mustang she drove, to the Easter Bunny costume she adorned for great nieces and nephews, she was a classy, loving, worldly person that will be greatly missed and equally celebrated.
Diane is survived by her loving partner, Harry Baumgartner, two nephews: Jeff (Lisa) Glenn, Mike (Paula) Glenn, a niece, Julie (Todd) Seymour, two great nephews: Nick (Kenzie) Glenn, Kellen Glenn, 4 great nieces: Samantha Glenn, Brooklyn Seymour, Tatum Seymour, Peyton Glenn, and one great-great nephew: Sutton Glenn.
Diane always embraced her Irish heritage and made several trips with Harry to Ireland. I think she would enjoy this quote:
“Think where mankind’s glory most begins and ends, and I say, my glory was I had such family and friends” – William Butler Yeats
In lieu of a formal memorial service, a gathering of family and friends will be held privately to celebrate and remember Diane.
