Our beautiful son, Dominic Christopher Cardenas Jr, of Lakewood, CO died on Friday, June 10, 2022. He succumbed to a quiet deceitful disease, Bi-Polar disorder along with a history of addiction to drugs. Dominic suffered valiantly from the torments of this physically transparent illness since early in his life. Bi-Polar is incurable and as deadly as cancer or heart disease especially when it is compounded by drug addiction. It is a disease of the mind and of one's mental outlook.
Dominic is survived by his parents, Dominic Sr and Erika; grandfather, Sergio Cordova, grandmothers, Vicky Cordova, Mary Cardenas; many uncles, aunts, cousins from both sides of our families and our pets Jada; Lexi; Potatoe. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Cardenas Sr., all from Colorado.
Dominic graduated from Northridge Pre-School, Northridge and Larkspur Elementary, Castle Rock Middle School and Englewood High School where he obtained the highest S.A.T. in his class. He briefly attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO and Metro University in Denver. He chose to join the workforce and tried out many different occupations. His most recent employment was in the Plumbing Industry as an Apprentice Plumber under his father. Dominic was a believer and received Yeshua as his Messiah and this is the only thing that gives us peace knowing that he has been completely restored. He can now experience eternal joy and is with the Father and his grandfather Bob. Come join us in a celebration of his life at the service time posted below. It is not our intention to justify our son's suicide, but rather we want to be honest and forthcoming to help bring awareness to this tragic event and to this crippling disease that affects too many people in the world. In lieu of flowers, we ask that a contribution be made to a foundation of your choice that helps to prevent any other parents from ever having to endure the pain and grief this has caused us.
